Our Rating

Rating: 88.8/100. The NordicTrack Commercial 2950 is top-of-the-line in a series of well crafted home treadmills. It’s an upgrade to the nearest NordicTrack model (the 2450) in terms of power, plus it’s one of the world’s few treadmills with power-adjustable console height. In this review we consider the new version for 2017, which has a high definition 10” touchscreen as part of its control center. Here you can access 40 preloaded workout apps, use an infinite variety of iFit downloads (membership required), and surf the web with an Android browser. This treadmill would make a nice addition to just about any home gym. Note however that a similar option, the NordicTrack Commercial 2450, costs less. The main advantage of the treadmill in this review is its adjustable console height. If you’re around 5’3″ or taller, maybe choose the Commercial 2450 with fixed console height instead.

NordicTrack’s top home treadmill, the Commercial 2950 with high-def 10” display, is built for engaging workouts by people large and small. It has extra track size and horsepower to accommodate taller and heavier trainees, and it’s the only NordicTrack treadmill with a power-adjustable console height especially to accommodate shorter users. Ample options for workout guidance can help people of all ability levels with weight loss, speed training and endurance. Features making this cardio trainer especially amenable to home use include a folding frame quiet belt rotation, a WhisperQuiet deck that absorbs sound from each footfall.

The Commercial 2950 has an excellent warranty package that includes five years of parts/electronics replacement and two years of free servicing.

Workout Programs

Keep fit with help from the 2950 treadmill’s collection of 40 preset workout programs. These were designed by a certified personal trainer and fall into four categories: calorie burn, heart rate control, interval training and speed training. Start exercising with pro guidance and take the guesswork out of training.

A Bluetooth chest strap is included for use with the heart rate controlled programs, which adjust the treadmill’s speed and resistance in response to your pulse.

iFit Coach infinitely expands the workout program options. With a household iFit subscription (good for several user profiles) you can access iFit directly through the Commercial 2950 treadmill console via its 10-inch HD touchscreen. One benefit is the option to download a new personalized custom training workout every day. You’ll also have access to iFit’s library of high definition video workouts created by the world’s best-known personal trainers, and you can create an infinite variety of Google Maps workouts with streaming Street Views. With iFit Google Maps you can virtually run your next race route on the treadmill or just explore the world’s countless coastal routes, jungle trails, city streets and so on… Google Maps workouts automatically adjust the 2950’s track incline based on data about the real-life route’s topography. Options range from -3% decline to +15% incline.

Besides using iFit with the treadmill’s console screen, you can access your account from a desktop computer or mobile device. You can chart your fitness stats, get ever-evolving customized advice about fitness/health, issue workout challenges to other iFit members, and more.

NordicTrack Commercial 2950 Features

The machine’s main upgrade for 2017 is the 10” touchscreen, which now shows the web and iFit programming in high definition. The 2950 treadmill console also lets you blast your music through integrated 3” speakers and has an adjustable-angle rack for your tablet computer.

The entire console has power-adjustable height so it can be suitable for family members of very different sizes. Get just the right positioning for a clear view and a comfortable breeze.

Three cooling fans are on board. These AutoBreeze units can smartly adjust to your workout pace or be set manually.

The Commercial 2950 can reach up to 12 mph and has an incline range of -3 to +15 percent. OneTouch controls make it easy to adjust speed and incline during workouts.

Runner’s Flex cushioning is provided beneath a roomy 22″ x 60″ track. When activated the cushioning brings up to 30% improvement in joint protection. When deactivated the treadmill surface allows for a better simulation of outdoor training.

To reveal floor space after workouts, the treadmill deck can easily be folded upward with SpaceSaver technology.

The NordicTrack Commercial 2950 Treadmill is ready to train adults of almost any size and at any workout intensity. Not everyone needs a treadmill with adjustable console height, but the adjustability is certainly appreciated by shorter trainees and their housemates. Loaded with fun features and a powerful motor, the Commercial 2950 can be a very smart buy for at-home fitness.

Tip: This treadmill is very similar to the Commercial 2450. Compared with the 2450, the main advantages of the 2950 are adjustable console height (which especially benefits shorter trainees) and extra horsepower.
