XTERRA Treadmills Buying Guide
This XTERRA treadmill buying guide presents the three XTERRA treadmills sold factory-direct in 2018. Sale prices range from $799 to $999 including delivery. Full prices are up to $1,799.
- Most impressive is the all-purpose TRX4500 with 60” track and max speed of 12 mph. It’s reinforced with shiny metal rails and has XTERRA’s widest treadmill workout monitor.
- The bestselling XTERRA treadmill is the TRX3500. It’s lighter duty than the 4500, but also lets you sprint at 12 mph on a long track.
- The entry-level TRX2500 could be your best buy for cardio exercise at lower speeds. It has a 55” track and top speed of 10 mph.
The Best XTERRA Treadmill: TRX4500
Leading the 2018 XTERRA treadmill collection is the TRX4500 Treadmill. Full price is $1,799 but a common discount price is just $999. The purchase price includes delivery and a chest strap for wireless heart rate monitoring.
This is the only XTERRA to be reinforced with aluminum rails (rather than plastic rails) for durability in busier home gyms. Key specs are a 60” x 20” workout space and XTERRA’s best treadmill drive, which delivers 3.25 horsepower. This model also features XTERRA’s steepest automated incline; the maximum slope is 15 percent.
Electronics include a 7.5” data screen and more than 30 customizable workouts, including a program controlled by your heart rate. Two users can save profiles to the console. Also provided are iPod-compatible speakers with a plug-in port, and Bluetooth for syncing with a fitness tracking app.
For home use the TRX4500 carries XTERRA’s best treadmill warranty package. This provides lifetime coverage for the motor and frame, five years for the suspension, and two years on parts. In-home treadmill repairs are free during the first year of machine ownership.
The “Goldilocks” XTERRA Treadmill: TRX3500
The TRX3500 is XTERRA’s middle treadmill. This model isn’t as robust as the top-of-the-line TRX4500, but it’s a big step up from the TRX2500. Full price is $1,599 with delivery included. Look for discount prices of $899 or even less; sometimes coupons pop up at the XTERRA Fitness website.
Just like the TRX4500, this middle model provides a roomy 60” x 20” workout space. In other ways it’s a slight step down. The drive is 3.0 HP (instead of 3.25) and the maximum incline is 12 percent instead of 15. The console has a 6.5” screen (instead of 7.5”) and offers the same excellent variety of workout programming as the top model. It supports two user profiles.
Other features include wireless telemetry (strap sold separately), iPod-compatible MP3 speakers, and Bluetooth for exporting workout data to a mobile fitness tracking app.
For home use the new XTERRA TRX4500 carries lifetime protection for its motor and frame, two years on the suspension and parts, and no charge on in-home machine repair if needed during the first year of ownership.
Cheapest Treadmill by XTERRA
The TRX2500 is the lowest-priced XTERRA treadmill for 2018. This model is significantly lighter duty than the others; it’s primarily a treadmill for walking. Full price is $1,299 but you can score a $799 deal online. The purchase price includes delivery.
Main features are a 55” x 20” workout space, a 2.25 HP drive, and automated incline to 10 percent.
The console has a 5.5” screen (instead of 7.5”) and features 24 preset exercise programs for speed and incline training. It also supplies a heart rate controlled workout program that can be used with a wireless chest strap (not included). The TRX2500 Treadmill console can save one user profile.
Like the pricier units, this model has built-in MP3 speakers, water bottle holders and a cooling fan.
For home use the new XTERRA TRX4500 carries lifetime protection for its motor and frame, two years on the suspension and parts, and no charge for in-home machine repair if needed during the first year of ownership.
