Sole Treadmills Buying Guide

This Sole treadmills buying guide includes a company overview and presents the six Sole treadmills for homes and light commercial gyms.

Sole Treadmill Choices

Six treadmills are in Sole’s lineup for this year. All have residential warranties and one carries a light commercial warranty too. The treadmills with “F” in their names are foldable. The collection includes the Sole F63, F65, F80, F85, S77 and TT8 (which is their light commercial model).

Best Folding Treadmill by Sole

Sole’s top-of-the-line folding treadmill is the F85. This sturdy home treadmill has a 4.0 CHP motor, an extra-high weight capacity and a 10.1″ LCD console screen with message center and peak-and-valley display for certain preset workout programs. The track is spacious, measuring 60″ x 22″. Premium 2.75″ crowned rollers and a durable two-ply nylon belt help make it one of the best folding treadmills on the market. It offers 15 levels of incline. The F85 is sold with a chest strap for wireless heart rate monitoring. It has two heart rate control workouts, six custom programs and two custom programs. Data from workouts can be stored long-term with the Sole Fitness App or exported to other mobile apps such as MyFitnessPal, iHealth and FitBit. A sound system is included for MP3 players too. Full price is $2,999 and a common sale price at Sole’s website is $1,999.

Best Non-Folding Home Treadmill by Sole

The brand’s top non-folding residential treadmill is the Sole S77. Except for being non-folding, this model has the same specifications as the F85 described above, such as 4.0 CHP and a 10.1″ monitor. Full price is $2,499 and an online sale price is $1,899.

Cheapest Home Treadmill by Sole

The most affordable Sole treadmill is the foldable F63. Comparable to non-folding treadmills in its price class, the F63 provides a 20″ x 60″ running surface and has a 3.0 CHP motor. It also offers the benefit of a power incline with 15-degree maximum tilt.

Just like the top Sole treadmills, the F63 has 10 workout programs (six standard, two for heart rate and two custom) and Bluetooth for wireless program setup and data tracking. Other perks include speakers for an MP3 player, cooling fans and a beverage holder. Full price is $1,899 and the sale price is $1,199 with shipping included. The warranty includes three years of coverage for the parts and electronics, and if servicing is needed, Sole will visit you. Some other brands expect you to ship your treadmill for repairs.

The Best Sole Treadmill

Leading the collection is the Sole TT8 Treadmill. It’s the only Sole treadmill with a warranty for light commercial settings, and it’s sold with a best-in-class residential warranty too. Key specs for this unit make it competitive with more expensive commercial trainers: a 4.0 CHP belt motor, 3″ rollers and an extra-wide two-ply track. It also stands out for providing an automated decline in addition to 15 levels of incline. Some other highlights are a 10.1” workout screen, speakers for an MP3 player, a tablet computer holder, and Bluetooth for integrating a mobile device and fitness apps.

In a home setting the TT8’s parts and electronics are protected for five years. In a light commercial setting they’re covered for three years. If labor is needed, Sole provides in-home or on-site servicing. Full price for the new model is $3,499 and the web sale price is $2,499.

Sole’s Return Policy

Buying a Sole Fitness treadmill directly from the manufacturer, the customer gets a 30-day trial period. Sole will pay for return shipping if needed. The treadmill’s purchase price is refunded minus just 8% for restocking. In contrast, most other treadmill brands expect the consumer to pay for shipping — and with treadmills weighing hundreds of pounds, that’s quite an expense.

More Sole Treadmills

Two treadmill models aren’t explored in our Sole Treadmills Buying Guide above but they might be best for you. The F65 and F80 are folding treadmills that earn great reviews. Each is more robust than the entry level F63 but not as advanced as the F85.

Sole Treadmill Business Profile

Sole Fitness is headquartered in the United States and has a customer service center in Los Angeles. This brand is owned by Dyaco International, which also owns Fuel, XTERRA and several other fitness brands.

The hotel industry is where Sole got its start. The company first focused exclusively on the light commercial treadmill industry and worked with top hotel chains such as Hilton and Omni. When it added a residential focus, Sole didn’t cut corners; it chose to use the light commercial components already on hand. Excellent engineering and quality control give Sole the confidence to provide excellent warranties that include in-home or on-site labor.

Sole Fitness sells treadmills and other fitness equipment to hotels worldwide and sells directly to consumers in the US and Canada online and by phone. The brand has also partnered with the retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods. If you’d like to try out a Sole Treadmill, you could head over to Dick’s — but we strongly recommend making your purchase at SoleTreadmills.com. Some benefits include lower prices and free shipping, even for returns! Sales tax is only applied for customers in California and Utah.
