Landice Treadmills Buying Guide

Buying a Landice home treadmill, first you choose between the Landice L7 and L8. Then you choose from four control panels, plus you can add upgrades.

Which Machine? The L7 and L8 are nearly identical, but the L8 is larger. A supersized workout area (63” long x 22” wide) makes it the best Landice treadmill for runners over 6 feet tall, and extra heft makes it the better match for exercisers over 350 pounds. Both machines are equipped with four-ply tread belts and 3.5”-diameter rollers to help ensure very low-maintenance ownership.

Which Control Panel? Of the four Landice control panels, three look almost identical with their backlit data windows. The exception is the Executive, which is the only Landice control panel to feature a color touchscreen plus Bluetooth for exporting data and connecting with RunSocial. (RunSocial can display interactive workout settings on your mobile device or big screen.) Details about all four consoles are in our in-depth reviews of Landice treadmills.

Which Extras? Landice treadmills can be customized several ways. Besides choosing from four control panels, you can add:

  • Long handrails (Medical rails)
  • Orthopedic cushioning
  • 19” Landice Vision entertainment center (Treadmill TV)
  • TV bracket
  • Tablet computer bracket

Orthopedic cushioning from Landice has been tested as seven times softer than a grassy track. Standard Landice cushioning is also very high quality, rated in scientific tests as three times more shock-absorbing than a grass workout surface.

The Landice treadmill TV lets you enjoy your favorite shows in different ways. It works with HDMI and coaxial cable input, and it has a remote control for Broadcastvision wireless entertainment. Content can be heard with headphones (included). Alternatively you can attach your own TV to the L7 or L8 with a bracket.

Landice L7 Treadmill: Sized for Most Runners

The Landice L7 is sized comfortably for the typical walker or runner. It provides a 58” long x 20” wide workout surface. For comparison most club-quality treadmill tracks are 60” x 20”. Overall dimensions for this fitness machine are 76.5” L x 35” W x 60” H.

Other key specs are a 4.0 CHP drive and power incline up to 15 percent.

This unit is identical to the L7 LTD that’s marketed for light commercial shoppers. It can comfortably accommodate all but the tallest runners, and its user weight capacity is 450 pounds. The machine itself weighs about 350 pounds, so it’s two or three times heavier than cheaper alternatives.

Excellent warranty coverage provides lifetime replacement for the parts. With the parts being very high-end, it’s rare that replacements are needed. Customers also get free repair service if needed during the first year of ownership.

Landice L8 Treadmill: Especially for Tall Runners

The Landice L8 is an especially spacious treadmill, providing runners an extra-long and extra-wide exercise area: 63” x 22”. Most treadmills for runners have 60” x 20” workout areas.

Like the smaller L7, the L8 features a 4.0 continuous horsepower motor that can reach 8 HP at peak. Also like the L7, it allows up to 15 percent incline with power controls.

This home-use treadmill is identical to the L8 LTD with light commercial warranty. It can comfortably fit virtually anyone, and it provides more length and elbow room than almost any treadmill you’d find at a club. The weight capacity is also exceptional at 500 pounds. The L8 itself weighs about 400 pounds.

Overall dimensions for this runners’ treadmill are 83” L x 35” W x 60” H.

Landice warranty coverage is among the best in the treadmill industry. WIth home use the mechanical parts and wear parts are protected for life, and most Landice control panels have lifetime warranties too. Labor is free for one year, provided that customers live within 60 miles of a Landice retailer.
