Our Rating

Rating: 92.3/100. The Landice L7 is a luxury treadmill made in the USA for home use. The L7 is priced about $4,000 to $5,000 depending on options, so it’s more expensive than the typical treadmill… but the investment pays off in the long run.  Landice treadmill parts and electronics are under warranty for a lifetime instead of the usual one to six years.

The L7 is the smaller of two models in Landice’s 90 Series, which also features the L8. The Landice L7 has a 58” x 20” workout surface, and the L8 has a supersized 63” x 22” workout surface. Each cardio trainer is top-rated and a pleasure to own, being quiet and essentially maintenance-free.

Pros:

  • Commercial parts & electronics
  • Lifetime home-use warranty on parts
  • Choice of three control panels, each with a Lifetime Warranty
  • Optional treadmill TV
  • Welded steel frame, powder coated
  • Two choices for high-end cushioning
  • 4.0 CHP commercial AC motor, 8.0 HP peak
  • Top speed 12 mph
  • Reversible deck for longevity
  • Power incline to 15 percent
  • Optional computer/TV bracket
  • Optional medical handrails for safety
  • 400-pound weight capacity

Cons:

  • High up-front cost
  • Heavy machine; not portable
  • 58” track is a bit short for the tallest runners
  • Labor is only free for one year

Introduction

The Landice L7 treadmill is built to a last a lifetime. It’s made in the USA from club-quality components, all under lifetime warranty. Most Landice electronics carry lifetime warranties too. Below are details about the three Landice treadmill control panels, other features of the L7, and the industry-leading free warranty.

Workout Programs & Landice Control Panels

The L7 and other Landice fitness machines are sold with a choice of control panels. Let’s take a moment to compare the three options to determine which best fits your needs.

Pro Sports Control Panel

The Landice Pro Sports control panel looks the same as the Cardio control panel above, with three backlit LCD windows, but has fewer programs and supports just one user profile.

The user can save five custom workout programs, plus the menu has five presets. Each preset workout adjusts the treadmill speed and incline. You can specify a duration and other limits for each program (parameters for speed and incline), and you can override the settings anytime.

Cardio Control Panel

The Landice Cardio control panel shows workout info in three LCD windows with blue backlighting. It lets four users each save a client profile and five custom workout programs. Preset program choices include:

  • Built-In: Fat Burn, Endurance, Interval, Intermediate, Advanced
  • Goal: Distance, Time, Calories
  • Heart Rate Control: Heart Rate Control, Interval Heart Rate Control + two custom settings per user

Additionally the Landice Cardio control panel can deliver three fitness tests.

Achieve Control Panel

If you want the premium Landice experience, the Achieve Control Panel is the top-of-the-line option. It costs more but offers the most in terms of workout programming. Residential models like the L7 allow for data storage for up to four users, making this a great option if you’ll be sharing use with others in the home. Best of all, the capacitive touch buttons over a 9” color LCD screen provide numerous benefits:

  • Brighter, sharper image
  • Tactile feel
  • Durable surface that’s easy to clean

With eight preset workout programs and the ability to save six of your own, it’s simple to keep things interesting with every workout.

Landice L7 Features

The L7 treadmill frame is non-folding. It’s made of aircraft-grade bulletproof aluminum, and it’s powder-coated to resist moisture and look factory-fresh for decades. Measurements are 76.5” L x 35” W x 60” H.

Landice treadmill decks are reversible for twice the longevity of non-reversible decks. With the L7 shoppers have a choice of two high-end suspension systems, with one qualifying as orthopedic.

The L7 treadbelt is four-ply, which helps make this fitness machine virtually maintenance-free. For comparison almost every other home treadmill in FitRated reviews has a one-ply or two-ply belt.

A 4.0 CHP motor (8.0 HP peak) powers the belt. Landice’s VFX Shock Absorption System reduces the risk of injury through superior impact reduction. Designed for optimum comfort and smoothness, it feels five times softer than grass.

Electronics include a choice of three control panels as described above. You can also add a Landice treadmill TV, a mounting bracket for your own TV or computer, or a tablet holder.

For heart rate monitoring the Landice L7 has grip sensors and is packaged with a wireless chest strap.

Incline training is supported with a 15 percent grade motorized ramp. The commercial-grade ramp motor can give 1,000 pounds of thrust.

For safety you can set up a passcode to activate the machine. Also, a magnetic key must always be in place for the treadmill to operate. The safety key can also auto-stop the machine.

Conclusion

The Landice L7 is a top FitRated recommendation for high-end home gym equipment. While it’s priced above average for home treadmills, it pays off as a rewarding long-term investment in health. The L7 is among the minority of home treadmills that’s club-quality and virtually maintenance-free. Some shoppers would be better accommodated by the larger L8, but for many elite home gyms the Landice L7 is the perfect fit.
