NordicTrack Treadmills Buying Guide

NordicTrack produces several lines of home treadmills and steep-sloping treadmill alternatives called incline trainers. They also make a treadmill desk with power-adjustable height. List prices range from $1,299 to $4,499 but sale prices are often as low as $799. Here is an overview followed by more details.

Overview of NordicTrack Treadmill Products

NordicTrack treadmills and incline trainers differ from each other in many ways, but a common feature is lots of workout programming. Each unit includes at least 20 workout apps that control the treadmill’s speed and slope — and then there’s iFit! Treadmills wired for iFit let trainees access unlimited workouts that are designed by personal trainers or set up by users themselves with the iFit Google Maps app. When a Google Maps workout is chosen, the real-life view of terrain is streamed at workout speed! Views are shown on the treadmill’s touchscreen monitor and/or at eye level on the user’s own tablet computer.

The lowest priced NordicTrack treadmills are in the C Series. These treadmills are generally best for walking and jogging, although the top-of-the-line C 1650 can serve runners too. It sells for just $1299 during online sales. Higher power is found in the pricier Elite Series (which is being phased out) and the popular Commercial Series, which kicks off with a 3.8 CHP bestseller called the Commercial 1750. This unit is normally priced at $2,499 but goes for $1,499.

NordicTrack Incline Trainers, which support rapid calorie burn while being kind to sensitive joints, have sale prices starting at $1,599. These clever treadmill alternatives each have maximum 40% inclines and offer at least 3% decline too. Incline Trainers are especially fun to use with iFit workouts that simulate the rise and fall of terrain.

The NordicTrack Treadmill Desk combines a sturdy work surface with a foldable treadmill for walking. It’s sale priced at $1,599. Full price is $2,499.

NordicTrack Treadmill Collections

Commercial Series

Nordictrack Commercial 1750 TreadmillThe Commercial Series of NordicTrack home treadmills is named for its commercial steel frames. Designed for frequent and heavy-duty use, these treadmills have strong motors, large two-ply tracks with big rollers, and long warranties. Three models are available: theĀ Commercial 1750, the Commercial 2450 and finally the Commercial 2950. Each has a web-enabled touchscreen, a tablet computer holder, plenty of preset programs and wiring for convenient iFit integration.

Special track and deck technology stands out here too. First, NordicTrack Commercial Treadmills feature on/off cushioning to let trainees choose from an on-the-road feel or a cushioned run that’s gentler on joints. Second, these units are equipped with WhisperQuiet technology to absorb the sound of impact. This unique feature helps make NordicTracks some of the best treadmills for home use.

The bestseller is the Commercial 1750 Treadmill. Its specs include a 7″ web-enabled touchscreen, an adjustable tablet holder, and a digitally controlled workout ramp with range of -3 percent decline to 15 percent incline. Thirty-eight workouts are included.

The top treadmill in this series is the Commercial 2950. Highlights include incline/decline, a 10″ web-enabled touchscreen, a 15″ high definition television and 40 built-in workout apps.

C Series

NordicTrack C 990 TreadmillThe C Series of NordicTrack home treadmills is the most affordable. Designed for lighter use, it features treadmills with lots of enticing extras but lower durability compared with the Commercial Series. C Series NordicTrack treadmills have less horsepower and single-ply tracks with small rollers. They can be excellent bargains for walkers but we wouldn’t recommend all of them to runners.

Four models available in this series: the C 630, 700 and 990 and 1650. Each has a tablet computer holder to add entertainment and online apps to your treadmill workouts. Each also has a minimum of 20 preset programs and is enabled for iFit interactive workouts.

The cheapest treadmill in this series, the C 630 with 2.6 CHP motor, has a 55″ track with maximum 10 percent incline. Its display is a 6″ backlit LED. iFit can be shown on the trainee’s own tablet computer or smartphone. This treadmill carries a short one-year parts warranty.

The best value in this series is the C 990. It has a 3.0 CHP motor and a 60″ track with maximum 12 percent incline. Its display is a 7″ color touchscreen with web browser and iFit wiring. This treadmill is sale priced at $999 and has a three-year parts warranty.

The top treadmill in this series is the C 1650. Highlights include a 10″ web-enabled touchscreen that can be used with iFit, 34 built-in workout apps and a wireless heart rate monitor. The C 1650 can support jogging and running, but despite its long warranty it won’t last as long as a Commercial Series treadmill. By spending just a bit more you could get more value by moving up to the Commercial 1750.

Incline Trainers

NordicTrack Incline TrainersNordicTrack Incline Trainers are impressive treadmill alternatives. They offer three big benefits: low impact exercise, speedy calorie burn and targeted muscle toning. These advantages are all made possible with a maximum 40% incline and a slight decline too. These trainers are great options for people with sensitive joints and serious fitness goals.

The four NordicTrack Incline Trainers are the X7i, X9i, X11i and X15i. The X7i is intended for walkers and has a relatively simple LED monitor, although it’s rather nice at 10″ with backlighting. The other models have more power and are equipped with 10″ web-enabled touchscreens. The top-of-the-line X15i is distinguished by its two-ply track and 15″ HDTV. It has the same motor as NordicTrack’s top traditional treadmill, the Commercial 2950.

Elite Series

NordicTrack Elite 9500 Pro TreadmillThe Elite Series of NordicTrack home treadmills shows off NordicTrack’s top components and features — and yes, we said the same about the Commercial Series. The Elite Series was prominently featured on the brand’s website until recently. Now these treadmills are out of stock and are being replaced by the upgraded Commercial Series.

You might still find NordicTrack Elite treadmills for sale, but the newer Commercial Series options are probably better values.
