Best NordicTrack Treadmills of 2017
For decades NordicTrack has been a popular brand in the home treadmill industry. Today NordicTrack helps makes treadmill exercise fun by including modern electronics for audio entertainment, browsing the web, virtually exercising outdoors with Google Maps routes, integrating your favorite apps and more. To be home-friendly the top NordicTrack treadmills are designed for especially quiet operation, and all the options have foldable frames or are otherwise compact.
Featured on the NordicTrack website for 2017 are a wide range of standard home treadmills; three steep-sloping treadmills called Incline Trainers; and two desk treadmills. Their list prices range from $1299 to $2999 but sale prices start at under $800.

NordicTrack Treadmills Buying Guide
Here we summarize each NordicTrack treadmill series to help you make comparisons. You’ll notice many differences, but a common quality among all the cardio trainers is great workout support! Except for the desk treadmills all models have at least 20 free built-in workout apps to help you train efficiently. Furthermore, all of the models now featured at NordicTrack can be used with an iFit Coach membership for personalized fitness advice, unlimited workout program variety and other benefits. You can even create iFit Google Maps workouts that control your treadmill track’s incline while you get interactive Google Street Views.
The next sections of this guide describe the premium Commercial Series, the cheaper C Series, NordicTrack Incline Trainers and NordicTrack Desk Treadmills.
The Commercial Series of NordicTrack home treadmills is named for its commercial steel frames. Designed for frequent and potentially heavy-duty use, these treadmills also have strong motors, spacious two-ply tracks with large rollers, and long warranties. Three models are available: the Commercial 1750, Commercial 2450 and Commercial 2950. Each has a web-enabled HD touchscreen, plenty of preset programs and convenient iFit Coach integration.
High quality deck technologies stand out here too. First, NordicTrack Commercial Treadmill decks feature Runners Flex cushioning to let you choose from an on-the-road feel or a cushioned run that’s gentler on your frame. Second, all have power inclines and declines to vary your training; the range is -3 percent to +15 percent. Third, the Commercial Series decks are equipped with WhisperQuiet technology to absorb the sound of your footfall on the track.
This collection’s bestseller is the Commercial 1750, which has a full price of $2499 but often sells for less than $1500. For 2017 this model has a new 7″ web-enabled HD touchscreen. It retains an impressive 3.8 CHP motor that’s helped make the machine a great match for most runners as well as walkers. The higher models have even more horsepower and 10″ display screens, and the Commercial 2950 is one of the world’s few treadmills with power-adjustable console height.
The lowest-priced NordicTrack treadmills are found in the C Series. These units have enticing extras but less durability compared with those in the Commercial Series. For example, their belts can’t serve for as many miles before maintenance is needed. They also lack the impressive sound absorption and plush cushioning of Commercial Series units. C Series treadmills can be great bargains for walkers and joggers, but not necessarily for runners in the long term.
Three C Series models are featured this year: the C 700, C 990 and C 1650. The belt motors range from 2.75 to 3.5 continuous horsepower, plus each C Series trainer has an incline motor. The C 1650 has the steepest max incline (12 percent). Here are some other specs that help summarize the collection:
- The C 700 has a 55″ long track and a standard display screen, two features that help keep the sale price under $800. (The other C Series treadmills have 60″ tracks and high-def touchscreens.) To use the C 700 with iFit you can connect your tablet computer.
- The C 990 has a 7″ high-definition touchscreen for accessing 32 workout apps, iFit Coach and the web. Sale priced at just $999 with a three-year warranty on parts and electronics, it’s the best buy of this series for 2017.
- The C 1650 has a 10″ HD touchscreen that can show 34 standard workouts, iFit Coach and the web.
The C 1650 often has an online sale price of just $1299. Despite its many appealing qualities, if this unit catches your eye we recommend seriously considering the Commercial 1750 instead. The Commercial 1750 costs just a bit more (when a discount is applied) but has some significantly higher quality components.
NordicTrack Incline Trainers are impressive treadmill alternatives. They offer three big benefits: low impact exercise, calorie burn at up to five times your usual rate, and targeted muscle toning. These advantages are all made possible with a maximum 40% incline and a slight decline (up to 6% depending on the model). These cardio trainers are great options for people who have serious fitness goals yet want to be relatively gentle to their ankles and knees.
The three NordicTrack Incline Trainers featured for 2017 are the X7i, X9i, X11i and the all new X22i. The X7i is meant primarily for walking with high calorie burn, but the X11i and the X22i have stronger motors in case you’d like to reach higher speeds (up to 12 mph) on a regular basis.
Incline Trainers arrive with dozens of workout apps and are enabled for iFit Coach. All are shipped with wireless heart rate monitors too. The main differences among the three models are motor power, the number of workout apps, and the display screens. The X9i and X11i for 2017 have high-definition touchscreens that can show preset workouts, iFit and the web.
Sale prices start at $1599. Full price for the new X7i for 2017 is $2499.
Accomplish fitness goals and work goals simultaneously with the NordicTrack Desk Treadmill or Platinum Desk Treadmill. These have work surfaces that are free of large workout screens, but they can connect with your tablet computer for iFit workouts and to automatically log your stats. Additionally a small window is built into each desktop to show distance and other statistics.
Both NordicTrack Desk Treadmills have large desktops and USB charging ports. Each is foldable too, and the desktop remains accessible. The treadmill desktops even have adjustable height so you can work while standing or sitting.
Upgrades on the Platinum Desk Treadmill are a power incline to 10 percent, a higher top speed (8 mph instead of 6 mph), and a longer track (60″ instead of 55″).
Although full prices start at $1999, the online sale price for the standard Desk Treadmill is just $899.
