NordicTrack C900 Treadmill

In the past couple of years, NordicTrack has released some outstanding values in their treadmill line, including the NordicTrack C 900.

The treadmill may not jump out as the most powerful, most electronically equipped piece of exercise equipment, yet it has everything you could possibly want in a quality treadmill at a very reasonable price.

The NordicTrack C900 is equipped with an industry standard motor (3.0 CHP), running deck (20″ x 60″), rollers (2.5″) and large speed/incline range.

Introduction

Existing customers of the NordicTrack C900 have absolutely raved about the comfort of the trainer, though we’ve heard complaints about their customer service.

The treadmill features Quadflex cushioning that reduces impact on your joints with an air-based, shock cushioning system on an extra-long treadbelt.

In addition to the advanced cushioning system, the C900 also features a 3.0 CHP Durx motor, 20″ x 60″ running surface, 20 pre-defined workout programs and CardioGrip heart rate monitor.

It also has a few toys including iFit Live compatibility, iPod dock, Intermix Acoustics 3.0 speakers and 7″ hi-res display.

Grouped in the $1,000-$1,500 price range (UPDATE: now under $1,000), the NordicTrack C900 does a little of everything.

Workout Programs

The 32 pre-defined workout programs on the NordicTrack C900 is what you would expect from a reputable treadmill manufacture.

The workout apps are broken down into four individual categories (high intensity, speed, incline, calorie burn), each with five routines.

Although you will be more than satisfied with the pre-defined programs, a lot of users will quickly want to start experimenting with iFit.

The innovative technology is one of the best additions to treadmills in the past decade, featuring a massive database of workouts (all designed by certified trainers) that are quickly accessible via the NordicTrack C900.

Additionally, with your iFit account, consumers can get a nutrition and activity tracker, motivating text messages and emails, as well as workout videos available for download. Connect with Google Maps and the treadmill will actually adjust speed and incline based on real terrain.

The only knock on this particular treadmill is that the iFit Wireless Module is sold separately, and required before you can actually enjoy iFit Live.

Treadmill Features

A lot of consumers will be sold on iFit (and for good reason), but we should also note that the NordicTrack C900 offers several other amazing features like Quadflex cushioning, SpaceSaver design, AutoBreeze cooling fan and CardioGrip heart rate monitoring.

The C900 can reach speeds up to 12 mph and 15 percent incline thanks to the 3.0 CHP Durx motor backed by a lifetime guarantee.

The treadmill folds with Space Saver design and features 2.5″ precision machined rollers for easy transport. While two great features, the C900 is still not the most compact treadmill on the market.

The NoricTrack C900 provides a comfortable workout experience with advanced Quadflex cushioning as well as an Autobreeze workout fan that automatically adjusts airflow based on how hard you are exercising.

Monitor crucial exercise data on an easy to read 7″ hi-res display with RaceTrack technology.

Last but not least, the NordicTrack C900 is iPod/mp3 compatible and earphones are not required thanks to the 3.0 Intermix Acoustics built-in speakers.

Warranty & Guarantee

The NordicTrack C900 treadmill warranty and guarantee includes:

- Frame: Lifetime
- Motor: Lifetime
- Parts: 3 Years
- Labor: 1 Year

NordicTrack has a 30-day money back guarantee on all exercise equipment. Dial 1-866-896-9777 for questions and concerns.

Conclusion

Power? Accessibility? Workout Advice? Versatility? The NordicTrack C900 does a little of everything.

Unfortunately, we have heard complaints about NordicTrack’s customer service. If you’re looking for another reputable brand, consider ProForm treadmills.

I am currently going through a nightmare with Nordic Track’s customer service. I am waiting on my third service call to fix the incline that hasn’t worked since it was assembled. Each step of their support process has required me to call in to get the process started again because there seems to be a communications breakdown between NT and Assembly experts (the company NT contracts out to do service calls in my area) The delays from their support has pushed me past the 60 day return policy from Sears. Luckily Sears is willing to let me replace it with another brand altogether, I’m just having trouble picking what I want. I loved this treadmill on paper and I am tempted to have it replaced with another of the same model but I now know for a fact that Nordic Track’s customer support process is broken and I will not take a chance on having to deal with them again.

    Hi Alex,

Sorry to hear that! I’m so glad Sears is being flexible with you.

If you’re looking for a good alternative at this price point, I would recommend the Sole F63.

    Have a great day!

Trying to decide between this and the sole f63 (the 2013 model seems much better than the price model). I am 6’1″, 230lbs. and plan to use it for walking and jogging. I do have some knee issues and want good cushioning.

Just can’t decide on which of these two models and would appreciate your input.

    Hi Steve,

You’ve done your research and picked two solid options, so you would likely be happy with either of these.

In terms of overall rating with our algorithm (that considers all the specs, features, warranty, and customer & expert reviews), the Sole F63 is slightly better, so that’s what I would go with.

Hope that helps! Have a great day,
    Kyle

Bought the sole f63 from Sears. Stopped working after 2 days. We sent it back and exchanged it for the Norditrack 900 pro. Had it for 2days so far so good.

    Hi Tania,

Thanks for the feedback. This just goes to show that even the brands that are more likely to be reliable can sometimes have a “dud” with such complex manufacturing.

I hope you enjoy your C 900! Have a great weekend,
    Kyle
