Our Rating

Rating: 93.3/100. The PRO 5000 is a member of ProForm’s best-engineered treadmill series. It’s built with large track rollers to promote quiet operation and longevity, it’s equipped with a 4.0 CHP motor for heavy duty training, and it has advanced electronics for workouts and entertainment. This treadmill is a big step up from the PRO 2000 too: Upgrades include a more powerful motor, a touch screen with web browser, and an iFit-enabled console. Full price is $2,499 and a typical sale price directly from ProForm is $1499. Here are pros and cons of choosing the ProForm PRO 5000.

  • Large running surface (22″ x 60″)
  • Top speed 12 mph
  • Power ramp (-3% to +15%)
  • iPod-compatible with port and 3″ speakers
  • 34 built-in workout programs
  • iFit-enabled
  • Full color 7″ touch screen
  • Android web browser
  • Tablet computer holder
  • SpaceSaver (Foldable)
  • Great warranty package

  • Slow customer service than average
  • Although foldable, has a large footprint when in use
  • Full price is high (Wait for a sale)

Overall the PRO 5000 Treadmill is darn impressive. Although we’re not wild about ProForm’s customer service, this high quality trainer isn’t likely to require customer service support. We do recommend holding out for a sale. ProForm treadmill sales events are frequent and sometimes knock $1000 off the PRO 5000’s MSRP of $2,499.

The ProForm PRO 5000 Treadmill is built to please runners and walkers alike. It has a heavy duty 4.0 CHP motor, a supersized 22″ x 60″ track and a power incline range of -3 percent to 15 percent. Its generous menu of preset programs can easily be augmented with iFit. Integrating your favorite music and browsing the web are made convenient too. The PRO 5000 Treadmill carries an excellent warranty package (see below). When purchased on sale this popular home treadmill is easily a best buy.

ProForm PRO 5000 Features

Both practical and boredom-blasting, the incline/decline on this ProForm treadmill is one favorite feature. The automated power ramp has a tilt range of -3 percent to 15 percent. Incline training allows faster calorie burn and enhanced muscle toning. Incline training is also gentler to your joints when compared with traditional zero-degree treadmill training.

A full color touch screen serves as the treadmill’s control center. It is 7″ wide for easy reading — and it not only shows workout info, but also connects with the Internet. An Android browser is built in.

For playing your MP3s an iPod-compatible is included. A set of 3″ speakers is integrated with the console.

The ProForm PRO 5000 also features a tablet computer holder with secure clamps.

A two-speed workout fan is built into the treadmill console. Beneath the console is a handy tray for your accessories.

When workout time is through, this treadmill can be folded with SpaceSaver technology. Just push on the deck and EasyLift Assist™ will get the job done.
