Best Low-Budget ProForm Elliptical
In our review the best cheap ProForm elliptical is the iFit-enabled Endurance 720E with two-year parts warranty. Sale priced at $799 and loaded with perks, the Endurance 720E Elliptical is best for shoppers seeking a light or medium duty home elliptical with ample workout support and tech for entertainment.
Keeping the cost under control is this trainer’s 20-pound flywheel, which is respectable but not top-notch in terms of challenge and smoothness. (The less you weigh though, the smoother a ride it will support.) The stride length is adjustable and goes up to 20″, which can be ideal for a variety of family members and also allows for variation in terms of which muscles are targeted.
Highlights of the Endurance 720E include an iFit-enabled console, 24 workout programs shown on a 5″ LCD, a tablet computer holder and an iPod-compatible sound system. Overall this ProForm elliptical can be a great value if obtained for the online closeout price of $799. Full price is $1,299.
Best ProForm Elliptical Under $1000
The best ProForm elliptical under $1,000 is the iFit-enabled Endurance 920 E, which has a $999 sale price ($1,699 full price). This top value combines a 25-pound flywheel with a 20″ power adjustable stride. Easy to assemble, it starts off on a good foot and keeps pleasing.
Workout guidance is provided by 32 preset workouts. Designed by certified personal trainers, these support efficient calorie burn and performance goals. Progress is shown on a 7″ full-color touchscreen. iFit is readily available for unlimited interactive training too; access customized workouts or virtually experience any Google Maps route by connecting your own tablet computer. The standard workouts and iFit workouts can take advantage of a maximum 20 percent incline to replicate terrain, boost calorie burn and enhance muscle toning.
Best ProForm Elliptical Under $2000
ProForm’s best elliptical under $2,000 is the Pro 16.0 NE with a web-enabled 7″ touchscreen and iFit technology. Full price is $2,499 but you can bring this trainer home for $1,999 with delivery included. Inspired by commercial machines, it combines a 32-pound flywheel with a 20″ power adjustable stride — and with 26 resistance levels, it’s a good fit for a wide range of trainees.
Exercise guidance is provided by 40 preset workouts designed by certified personal trainers. The menu is accessed on a full-color touchscreen, which also serves as an Internet portal! Enjoy your favorite TV shows, social media sites and more while keeping fit. iFit interactive training can also be shown on the touchscreen too, or you can add your own tablet computer for an eye-level view.
Best ProForm Recumbent Hybrid
ProForm’s unique Hybrid Trainer Pro does double duty. It functions as both an elliptical trainer and a recumbent (reclining) exercise bike. Sold for just $599 online, it caters to shoppers seeking low-impact exercise on a small budget. This machine is most comfortably used by smaller trainees because it has a short stride (17″) and a 15-pound flywheel.
The Hybrid Trainer Pro has 20 preset workouts and is iFit-enabled for unlimited workout guidance, automated data tracking and other benefits. Data are shown on an LCD console with an adjustable angle to suit different people’s heights. A tablet computer attached above the console lets you use iFit, access digital entertainment or surf the web during workouts.
We caution readers that this machine only has a 90-day parts warranty. It isn’t a “Best Buy” elliptical, but it is ProForm’s top hybrid.
ProForm Fitness Company Profile
ProForm is the outgrowth of an import company founded in 1977 by three Utah State University business majors. Their original brand, Weslo, imported diverse raw materials and finished products from Asian markets. To attract customers in the summer months Weslo then began manufacturing manufacturing mini trampolines. With this move the brand ProForm Fitness was born. Weslo and ProForm expanded shortly thereafter to offer exercise bikes and then a wider range of fitness products. Since 1994 ProForm has been part of the ICON Health & Fitness portfolio. It is headquartered in Logan, Utah and currently manufactures all of its products overseas.
