Part of seeing ongoing success with any workout program is making sure that you are always excited and looking forward to the gym, not to mention putting in a maximum amount of effort with each and every session you do.

You Aren’t Seeing Progress
The first and most obvious sign that your workout has gone stale is if you simply aren’t seeing progress. If you can’t remember the last time you advanced with your workout, it’s time for a change.
Your body will continually adapt to the stressors that you are placing on it, so if you aren’t changing something around, it’s only a matter of time before you stop responding.
A few quick changes will get you seeing results once again.
You’re Skipping Sessions
Another sign that your workout has gone stale is if you’re constantly finding reasons to skip the gym. One day you had errands to run, the next you went to see a friend, and the day following you simply didn’t have much energy.
If you find every excuse in the books to avoid your workout, it’s also time for a change. You should be excited to hit the gym each time and look forward to the challenges it brings.
You Aren’t Getting Much Of A Pump
Another sign that you may need to revamp your workout is if you aren’t getting much of a muscle pump any longer. This sign is often going to come about because you’re starting to let your rest periods drag on, which then impacts the level of muscle pump you see.
It’s not so much the pump here that’s the problem but rather, the fact that if you are letting those rest periods linger on, you aren’t keeping up the intensity of the workout session.
This will then lead to slower results.
A good workout session moves long quickly, only allowing enough time for you to properly recover.
If you are taking three or more minutes of rest between most of your sets, you know that you’re not going to be seeing the results that you should be.
You Have Nagging Injuries
Finally, the last sign that your workout has gone stale is if you tend to have these nagging injuries that just won’t let up. Whether it’s sore knees, a bad back, or you have a severe case of tennis elbow that seems to trouble you every time you do chest and triceps, these are all indicative of doing too much of the same exercise over and over again.
In this case, take a week off, let the body heal up, and then figure out a new plan of attack for your sessions. Changing things up a little can help you better avoid these injuries as more often than not, they’re simply an issue of overuse.
