Our Rating

Rating: 86.3/100. The Performance 600c Treadmill is one of ProForm’s lowest-priced treadmills with a long enough track for most runners. Specs include an iFit-compatible console (iFit monitor sold separately), a 2.75 CHP motor and a 60″ track with incline.

Important to note: The main difference between the ProForm Performance 600c and Performance 600i is that the latter can use your own tablet computer as the iFit monitor. Each treadmill costs $799 and they have the same warranty package — so if you already own a tablet computer, the Performance 600i is probably the better buy.

Pros:

  • Long tread track (60″ x 20″)
  • Top speed 12 mph
  • Power incline (12 percent)
  • Smartphone-compatible (2″ speakers)
  • 22 workout apps
  • Backlit display
  • iFit-compatible
  • Contact pulse monitor
  • Tablet computer holder
  • SpaceSaver (Foldable)

Cons:

  • Thin track
  • Small track rollers
  • No wireless heart rate monitoring
  • Slow customer service

Introduction

The ProForm Performance 600c Treadmill is a lower tech version of the Performance 600i. The difference matters only if you plan to use iFit, which delivers unlimited workout programs to supplement the built-in routines. While the 600c in this review requires a special iFit monitor, the 600i can use your tablet computer to run the workout technology.

The Performance 600c has a 60″ track with 12 percent power incline. Its motor has 2.75 continuous horsepower. Although full price is $1299 this ProForm treadmill often sells for $799 including delivery.

Workout Programs

The Performance 600c has 22 workout programs designed by a certified personal trainer. Each workout program has a set duration and can alter the treadmill’s speed and incline automatically .

For infinite workout variety you can use iFit with the Performance 600c Treadmill. To do so you’ll need an iFit subscription and an iFit monitor (sold separately). With iFit you can download a new and customized workout for every training session, stream HD video workouts, and virtually train around the world with Google Maps™. Choose from a menu of Google Maps™ routes or specify any path you please. The Performance 600c Treadmill will adjust its incline to simulate the terrain! This immersive programming includes interactive Google Street Views.

Other ProForm treadmills such as the Performance 600i don’t require a special iFit monitor. Instead your own mobile device works as the display.

ProForm Performance 600c Features

Exercise data are shown on a 6″ backlit screen. Stats shown are mileage, speed, calorie burn, pulse and time elapsed. Pulse is measured with contact sensors on the treadmill’s handlebars.

A top feature on the Performance 600c Treadmill is its 12 percent incline. This automated ramp supports faster calorie burn and targeted muscle toning. Using a small incline (1% or 2%) can also be advantageous by offsetting the slight push you get from a moving tread track.

The track is the standard length and width for a runner’s treadmill (60″ x 20″). It’s also supported by the same ProShox™ cushioning that’s featured on more expensive ProForm treadmills. However, we’ve heard a few complaints about the track being thin and prone to tearing. Most customers’ reviews don’t report this problem.

For extra motivation an iPod-compatible port and 2″ speakers are built into the treadmill console. There’s also a bracket for holding your tablet computer at eye level.

In between workouts the treadmill can be folded to save space. SpaceSaver EasyLift™ Assist lets you fold the deck upward with minimal effort.

Warranty & Guarantee

The ProForm Performance 600c Treadmill warranty includes:

– Frame: Lifetime

– Deck: Lifetime

– Motor: Lifetime

– Parts: 2 Years

– Labor: 1 year

ProForm provides a 30-day money back guarantee on its treadmills.

Conclusion

The Performance 600c is a surprisingly durable low-priced treadmill. It’s an excellent choice for budget-minded walkers and is good for novice runners too. As mentioned earlier in this review though, the newer alternative — the Performance 600i — is a better option for most people who are interested in using iFit. Both models sell for $799 during online sales.
