Quick Summary

Introduction

Good folding treadmills for runners are hard to find. The LifeSpan TR4000i fills a special niche by combining a long track and powerful motor with a folding frame. Its overall quality is high; for example, the tread belt is extra thick, the frame is steel, the side rails are aluminum rather than plastic… And this treadmill continues to impress when you look beyond the basics. Some highlights are an automated ramp, 21 training programs, music speakers and an optional Bluetooth connection.

Workout Programs

Move toward your goals with help from diverse built-in workout programs. The LifeSpan TR4000i has 17 preset workout routines that you can use at different challenge levels. There are five for weight management, five for healthy living and seven for sports training. Also included are two heart rate programs and room to save two customized workouts.

LifeSpan Fitness TR4000i Features

The programming screen is a 6″ LCD with blue backlighting. It shows Time, Calories, Distance, Steps, Heart Rate, Speed, Pace, Incline and Elevation Gained.

This treadmill lets you save session data to a USB drive. You can upload your stats to a free LifeSpan Club account online to chart your progress, plan workouts and more.
The USB port can also charge a mobile device.

An optional Bluetooth receiver ($29.99) for the TR4000i lets you automate the transfer of workout data. It supports Active Trac™ and Train & Trac™ apps for Android and iPhone, which work with MyFitnessPal and other fitness tracking programs.

A media holder can conveniently hold your smartphone or tablet for easy viewing during workouts. For audio you can connect your iPod and use headphones or the treadmill’s speakers.

The TR4000i can monitor your pulse wirelessly or with touch sensors. Wireless chest straps are sold separately.

For extra calorie burn and muscle definition the TR4000i provides a power ramp. Adjust it with quick controls or let preset programs take control… A three-speed fan helps you stay cool and keep training!

A safety feature is IntelliGuard. This pauses the track after 20 seconds if you step away.

To reveal floor space between workouts the treadmill’s deck can easily be folded upward. A hydraulic shock system does most of the work.

Unfolded this treadmill measures 74.5″ L x 32″ W x 56″ H. It folds to 42″ L x 32″ W x 66.5″ H.
