Introduction

Life Fitness designed the T5 with larger trainees in mind. This sturdy treadmill is an upgrade to the popular T3 in two ways: extra track width and extra weight capacity. Other key points are a high-powered motor, a very comfortable cushioning system, a power incline and your choice of two consoles. Read on for details about the consoles, other features and treadmill warranty.

Workout Programs

The two available Life Fitness consoles are named Go and Track+. Each has a varied selection of preset workouts, including several that adjust to your heart rate. The Track+ is enhanced with a wireless connection and iPod compatibility.

The Go console has 12 workout programs. Two user profiles can be saved, and each profile can save two customized training programs. Each user can also choose Quick Start. This program applies the user’s speed and incline preferences for walking, jogging and running.

The Track+ console has 16 preset workout programs. It supports four user profiles and each user can save 12 customized routines. Like the Go console, it has Quick Start mode too. Unlike the Go console, the Track+ has digital connectivity. Connect your iPod, iPhone, iPad or Android device. You can enjoy your music, download new Life Fitness workouts, and connect the treadmill to other mobile workout apps.

Life Fitness T5 Features

Life Fitness is known for its top-notch cushioning. Its FlexDeck absorbs the harsh impact that running has on your joints, making treadmill running about 30% gentler on your body compared with running on the road.

To support targeted muscle toning and speedier calorie burn, the T5 has a power incline. Train uphill with a slope of up to 15 degrees. The customization is excellent; choose from settings in 0.5 degree increments.

For heart rate monitoring the T5 gives two options: wireless and contact systems. The chest strap for wireless telemetry is sold separately.

This treadmill has a smart 3.0 HP motor. How is it smart? Instead of always recruiting its full energy potential, the treadmill adjusts its output depending on your weight.

To support entertainment the T5 has a reading rack that can hold a magazine or mobile device. You can also connect your iPod if you choose the Track+ console.

Each console has two water bottle holders.

Warranty & Guarantee

The Life Fitness T5 Treadmill warranty includes:

– Frame: Lifetime

– Deck: Lifetime

– Motor: 10 years

– Parts: 7 Years

– Labor: 1 year

Conclusion

The T5 Treadmill is a high quality option for larger trainees. While it can support more workout variety compared with the T3, its main advantages are extra track width and higher weight capacity. Overall we recommend the Life Fitness T5 for trainees between 300 and 400 pounds. For those who weigh less, the T3 is a better buy.

Picked my T5 up as a return. Only issue was heart rate monitor didn’t work on the display. The connector was not clipped into the console which I fixed myself. I paid $1600 for a new treadmill. 0 hours registers on the machine. I wouldn’t have spent 4K but $1600 was a steal.
