Treadmill Speed is measured in Miles Per Hour (mph). Average running speed is 5-9 mph.

.5 - 12 mph

Treadmill Incline measures the angle of the deck, and how steep it is relative to the floor (0% is flat, and 15% is like a steep hill).

.5 - 12%

The Treadmill Motor is what turns the belt as you run. We recommend at least 2 HP (Horsepower) motors, 2.5+ HP for jogging, and 3.0+ HP for running.

4.0 HP AC motor

Treadmill Deck dimensions are measured in inches: Width x Length. The wider and longer the deck, the safer it is (55-60 inches long recommended for running).

22" x 60"

The Treadmill Belt is the surface you run on. The thicker the belt, the less impact on your joints. At least 2-ply (1 inch) recommended.

Flexdeck Shock Absorption System

Some treadmills are designed to conserve space by folding up. This is a convenient option, but some features might be reduced.

Treadmill Programs allow you to complete a workout with changing speeds and inclines, without changing anything manually.

Max. Weight

Treadmill Max User Weight is the amount of weight, in pounds (lbs), that it can safely support, which can represent durability.

300 lbs
Heart Rate

Heart Rate programs allow you to track how many times your heart is beating per minute (bpm), and some control the workout for you.

Handle grips

Dimensions are included to help you figure out if this treadmill will fit properly (Length x Width x Height and Height x Depth).

83" x 37" x 63.5"

Treadmill Display refers to the screen you'll look at to monitor workouts. LED and LCD displays are similar to TV screens.

Cooling Fans

Treadmill Cooling Fans are designed to help keep you cool during an intense workout.

Accessory Tray

Some treadmills include an accessory tray for holding items such as water bottles, wallets, keys, or MP3 players like iPods.

Treadmills that include a sound system allow you to listen to your MP3 player/iPod through built-in speakers (no headphones).

Quick Controls

Quick Controls allow you to select speed, incline and even workout programs with the touch of a button (usually on the handles).

It even has Manager Mode for controlling various options and for diagnostics/maintenance. Some key specs are a 60” track, a power incline and a 4.0 HP motor (8.0 peak HP). This trainer is also loaded with fitness programs to fit every cardio workout goal and ability level. Below are details about the Club treadmill’s programming, other features and warranty.

Workout Programs

The Club Series Treadmill shows workouts on an LED with yellow-orange lighting. One fast option to start training is Quick Start, which recalls your preferred settings. You can save your favorite speeds and inclines for three Quick Start workouts: walking, jogging and running.

Another menu shows programs named Manual, Fat Burn, Cardio, Zone Training +, Random, Hill, Personal Trainer, Fit Test, Speed Interval and Cool Down. The Cardio program works with a Polar telemetry chest strap (included) or with continuous grasping of sensors. It adjusts the treadmill’s challenge to help you train at 80% of your theoretical max heart rate.

Also included are a variety of fitness tests. Life Fitness advises using its cardio fitness test every 4 – 6 weeks to monitor your improvement in endurance. Some of the other fitness tests provided are Army Physical Fitness Test, Navy Physical Readiness Test, and the Physical Efficiency Battery for US Federal Law Enforcement.

The Club Series Treadmill can also store up to six custom workouts.

Life Fitness Club Series Features

The treadmill displays step-by-step instructions for setting up your workout. As you exercise it shows calories, calories per hour, distance, time, incline, speed, METS, Watts, pace in minutes per mile or kilometer, distance climbed, and heart rate.

This treadmill is iPod compatible. It has a 30-pin port and a headphone jack at the lower center of the console.

FlexDeck cushioning significantly reduces the impact of exercise on your joints. Compared with asphalt surfaces, this treadmill is up to 30% gentler.

To simulate uphill routes, the track can incline if half-degree increments up to 12 degrees.

The Club can track your heart rate with a wireless chest strap (included) or with touch sensors. Two sensors are located on each of the handlebars, and the console displays a reading within 20 to 30 seconds of contact.

This treadmill can run constantly at 4.0 HP but has peak energy of 8.0 HP.

For safety there’s a stop button and a lanyard clip.
