Our Rating

Rating: 77.5/100. Built for shoppers with small home workout spaces, the new Diamondback 510T Treadmill has a small deck and folds for storage under a bed. In comparison most home treadmills are wider and longer, and they aren’t as easily stashed away.

A disadvantage of the small size, of course, is a rather limited workout space: The 510T track gives enough room for a power walker, but its 17” x 48” area isn’t spacious enough for a runner’s long strides. Also restricting this machine’s use to walkers is the low horsepower; this Diamondback treadmill has just 2.0 HP while the standard for runners’ treadmills is 3.0 CHP (continuous horsepower). An alternative for runners is the Diamondback 910T, which pairs a roomy 21.5’ x 63” track and a 4.0 CHP motor.

Ten workout programs are built into the console. These automate the track speed, with each program using a different combination of speeds from 0.5 to 8 miles per hour.

Music and video can help extend your cardio workouts, and Diamondback treadmills have speaker hookups to boost the volume. A media holder is built into the 510T’s console for your tablet computer, smartphone or MP3 player.

Normally this model sells for $799 including delivery. At debut in late 2017 though, the 510T Treadmill had a promotional price of just $719. We expect to see the same sale price reappear throughout 2019. Additionally members of the US military get 10% discounts on Diamondback fitness equipment anytime.

Pros:

  • Low price, even without a discount
  • No assembly required
  • Takes less floor space than most other home treadmills
  • Folds to a compact size for storage, just 11 inches tall
  • 10 preset workout programs
  • Speakers for your MP3s and video
  • Motor operates quietly and has a lifetime warranty
  • Belt is high quality for the price
  • Magnetic auto-stop feature for safety
  • Three years of parts protection
  • Military discount available (Save 10%)

Cons:

  • Small workout space (17” x 48”)
  • Lacks incline for extra calorie burn and muscle toning
  • For walking only, unlike the Diamondback 910T

Introduction

The 510T is a new home treadmill from Diamondback, a company known for no-frills fitness equipment with good warranties. This model is one of the smallest treadmills in our reviews, and it’s only meant for walking. Below are overviews of the workout programs and components.

Workout Programs

This cardio trainer has quick-start buttons for 10 workout programs. Each workout automates the belt speed in a different way, so you can exercise with a pro-designed treadmill routine that fits your fitness goals. Program 1, for example, has you steadily increase speed and then gradually cool down. Program 2 is more dynamic; it introduces interval training. A graph of each preset program is printed right onto the console for convenience.

Treadmill Features

This compact treadmill can fold for storage. Its folded dimensions are 66” long x 30” wide x 11” high.

The track surface measures 17” across and 48” long.

The workout belt is powered by a HiTorque brand 2.0 horsepower motor. Unlike many 2.0 HP treadmill motors, it has a lifetime guarantee.

For safety this fitness machine has handrails and an auto-stop magnet.

A media holder can support your tablet computer or other mobile device. Audio can be amplified with the built-in FreeMix Acoustics 5.0 speakers.

Warranty & Guarantee

The Diamondback 510T treadmill warranty includes:

– Motor: Lifetime

– Frame: Lifetime

– Parts: 3 Years

– Electronics: 3 Years

– Wear items: 90 days

– Labor: 1 Year

Diamondback Fitness provides a 30-day money back guarantee with all their fitness machines.

Conclusion

The Diamondback 510T Treadmill is a recommended buy among budget treadmills for walkers. Unlike most treadmills in its price class, it carries a lifetime motor warranty, a three-year parts warranty and a year of labor. It’s also rare for requiring no assembly. Joggers and runners should choose an alternative, but for walking the 510T is a top value.
