The Details
Fit Rated is pleased to announce our first annual Strong Mind and Body Scholarship. We make it our goal to increase awareness of how to stay physically fit, but we don’t want you to overlook keeping a very important muscle well exercised… your brain.
A Pew Research Study revealed a bachelor’s degree will earn you an average of an extra $17,500 per year over a someone with a just a highschool diploma. Among recent college grads polled, 91% reported their degree has already paid off in their professional life.
It’s hard work, and it’s not cheap. That’s why we want to help offset some of the costs of your studies while increasing awareness of the importance of fitness.
Winners of the Strong Mind and Body Scholarship will be awarded $2,000 toward their university or college fees. The scholarship is awarded annually and open to all students in North America who meet the eligibility criteria. Canadian winners will be awarded the equivalent of $2,000 USD.
Eligibility
- Current public or home-schooled seniors attending school in the United States or Canada OR current college students already studying at an accredited U.S. or Canadian post-secondary institution
- U.S. or Canadian citizens
- Anticipating completion of high school diploma at time of application or already in possession of high school diploma / GED
- Planning to or currently pursuing a degree at an accredited U.S. or Canadian post-secondary institution
- Demonstrating a minimum 3.00 GPA or equivalent grade average
**If you cannot find Fit Rated scholarship listed on your university’s or college’s website, please ask the financial aid office to list our scholarship.**
Deadline
Scholarship applications are accepted until October 30th every year and awarded on November 15th. Winners will be notified using the contact details they provide.
How to Apply
You may submit your scholarship application using the form at the bottom of this page.
To apply, please create a short video (no longer than 5 minutes) that answers the following:
- What struggles have you faced in managing your time and allocating the proper amount toward exercising both body and brain?
- What’s your favorite piece of technology that allows you to effectively manage your time, keep your GPA high, workout, and incorporate proper sleep and diet?.
Videos will be evaluated on:
- Overall creativity
- Innovation
- Quality of information
- Entertainment and capture of our interest

When is the application deadline?

Is this scholarship renewable?
This is a single semester scholarship. Although new scholarships are available each year, past winners cannot apply again.
How many scholarships are available? How much are they?
One scholarship is available worth $2,000 USD.
Are Canadians eligible?
Yes. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the U.S. or Canada… if your video best captures the criterion listed above, you win a scholarship worth $2,000 USD!
How is a winner determined?
Winners are chosen at Fit Rated’s sole discretion.
When will the winner be selected? How will they be notified?
Winners will be chosen November 15th of every year and notified via the email provided in their submission. If the winner doesn’t respond within 3 days, we will choose another applicant.
What about eligibility verification?
You don’t have to prove eligibility to apply. However, winners will need to prove they meet our requirements.
Can I mail in a paper application?
No.
How can the scholarship be used?
The funds may be use for tuition or other educational expenses at an accredited university.
Does it cost anything to apply?
Applying is absolutely free.
