Our Rating

Rating: 95/100. The ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22 is a high-end indoor bike with WiFi and 22″ HD display. It lets you access energizing LiveCast bike studio classes anytime, with a new spin class released daily. Shown on a nearly two-foot diagonal screen, each studio bike session lets you catch the motivation of an elite gym atmosphere and benefit from world-class coaching. LiveCast workout videos also train you off the bike, sometimes integrating upper-body exercise, so the 22” touchscreen can swivel 180 degrees for easy viewing from anywhere in your workout area.

Also included with this Pro bike is iFit Coach Plus for comprehensive fitness guidance. One benefit is the option to simulate biking along outdoor routes with interactive Google Maps Street Views: Virtually experience any route that Google has mapped, from a gentle coastal tour to a steep mountain path. The Studio Bike Pro 22 has the most generous slope range in the ProForm Studio Bike Series, letting you experience grades from -20% to +20%. The many benefits of incline/decline training include practicing for real tours, getting faster calorie burn, boosting the cardio challenge, and working your leg muscles in different ways.

Based on your profile iFit Coach Plus delivers three workout choices to your Studio Bike bike every day. You’ll also get your preferred level of 24/7 coaching in the areas of fitness activity, nutrition and sleep. A wearable device called iFit Vue is included for counting your steps, tracking heart rate, giving menu suggestions based on your calorie burn, and much more.

While the training programs are highly customized, so too are the bike’s ergonomics. The saddle can move forward and back, and it’s vertically adjustable by more than a foot. The handlebars can also be repositioned for body size, plus they rotate to support either an upright riding pose or a headstrong race position. As explained below, the pedals bring more than one option too. Read on for pros and cons to consider about this immersive new ride.

The ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22 Exercise Bike is the premium model in a new three-part collection. It’s distinguished from cheaper models (the ProForm Studio and ProForm Studio 10.0) primarily for its extra-large screen. With a 22″-wide HD display, the Pro 22 can make virtual studio sessions and simulated outdoor rides especially engaging. Read on for details about workout programs, features and the ProForm bike warranty.

Studio Bike Pro Workout Programs

The ProForm Studio Bike Pro 22 has a WiFi connection for use with LiveCast studio classes and iFit Coach Plus.

LiveCast spin bike classes are filmed in an elite gym studio with world-class instructors. A new class is released daily, and you can catch it anytime on your 22″ screen. At times an instructor will prompt you to dismount for different cross training exercises, including some with upper body training. To keep an eye on the guidance you can flip the screen and adjust the angle.

The machine is sold with a one-year commitment to iFit Coach Plus, an app that’s been described as “the coach that fits into your pocket” as well as your bike screen. Every day iFit Coach Plus will deliver three workout choices that are tailored to your fitness profile. It also can log your other physical activity, make adaptive calorie recommendations and give recipe advice, and help you follow a healthy sleep schedule.  A wearable iFit Coach device is included with purchase of the bike.

Studio Bike Pro 22 Features

A 22″ wide touchscreen with HD technology sets the Studio Bike Pro 22 apart from other exercise bikes. It can swivel 180° to serve as your monitor for LiveCast and iFit Coach Plus workouts both on and off the bike.

Data are also shown on a red LED display. A prominent readout makes it easy to see your progress in a glance. The bike calculates your Watts, heart rate, calories burned, distance and more. With iFit you can automatically log and export your statistics too.

The Studio Bike Pro 22 can tilt from -20 percent to +20 percent with electronic controls. This is the steepest incline/decline in the TDF Studio series. iFit Coach Plus membership helps make the most of this feature by delivering personalized Google Maps workouts with interactive views of landscapes and city scenes.

Magnetism is used for resistance on ProForm’s Studio bikes. Compared with contact braking it helps the machines operate quietly, and without friction the resistance system can’t wear down over time.

Pedals on the Studio Bike Pro 22 help you feel secure at high speeds and steep inclines; they have toe cages and clips. The pedals have a universal design as well so you can swap them out for others.

The Studio bike seat has a universal stem and can be customized. The provided seat is well padded for comfort. It can be adjusted by 4″ forward and back, and by 13″ up and down.

A water bottle holder is built into the console.

For easy repositioning of the bike, transport wheels are attached.

For convenient upper body training a pair of three-pound dumbbells is included with purchase of the bike. For storage a holder is attached to the bike frame.

The bike itself is adjustable to fit almost anyone… so if you’re seeking a luxury ride for serious fitness goals, the Studio Pro 22 is one of the best exercise bikes of the year.

You could save money by choosing the cheaper ProForm Studio Bike Pro (or even the standard Studio Bike), but then you’d miss the highly immersive potential of the 22″ screen.
