Our Rating

Rating: 90.25/100.

The Diamondback 510ic features 16 levels of computer-controlled magnetic resistance which can be adjusted by the push of a button on the display. While the display is basic, it still delivers everything you need for an intense workout. It provides essential rider data on an easy to read, high contrast LCD screen including speed, heart rate, distance, cadence, watts and elapsed time.

As for workout variety, the 510ic comes with 12 onboard workout programs including 8 preset programs, 4 heart-rate controlled programs, as well as manual and custom user settings. These offer enough variety for riders to mix up their workouts each time, and use the built-in contact heart-rate sensors to track their progress. The programs are similar to what you would see on a stationary bike at your local gym. So if you wanted to ride and watch TV in the background, you could easily check back in to your program on the small display without being forced to stare at your statistics the entire ride. Being on a horizontal angle, the display allows easy visibility while providing the option to watch your own TV or prop a magazine or tablet on the handlebars as well.

The 510ic features a heavy-duty 32 lb. flywheel that contributes to the overall sturdiness of the bike and helps to replicate the feeling of riding a road bike. Despite the large flywheel, it’s still a quiet ride. It won’t disturb your neighbors or create an overwhelmingly loud sound when riding. The wheel is smooth, effective and offers multiple challenge levels!

The 510ic is also appealing for its compact and strong frame. In the past, many spin bikes weren’t considered to be comfortable due to their overall setup and seat. The Diamondback 510ic offers customization and adjustability at all angles to ensure you find your perfect fit. You can adjust the seat height and position as well as the handlebar height and position. The 510ic bike is ideal for people between 5’2″to 6’5″; its handlebars and seat can be adjusted to properly fit people in this height range.

The entire bike feels secure when riding, allowing you to push hard and break an intense sweat in comfort. As it can hold up to 300 lbs. it will accommodate most users. Assembled, the Diamondback 510ic bike is 42″L x 23″W x 46″H and weighs just 104 lbs. This means it can fit into small spaces and is easy to move around between workouts. Although the 510ic looks smaller than other indoor bikes, it holds just as much merit when it comes to durability.

The Diamondback 510ic is a great exercise bike for beginners who may not be ready to invest too much into their bike but still want an intense workout. It promises an effective, no-fuss workout without offering an overwhelming amount of programs, or difficult setup and maintenance. It doesn’t need WiFi, monthly membership fees or a huge budget. Overall, the 510ic is easy to use, and users can hop on and get riding as soon as it’s set up.

Pros:

  • Flywheel: Heavy-duty 32 lb. flywheel is very sturdy
  • Frame: Durable, anti-flex steel frame
  • Resistance: Computer-controlled magnetic resistance allows you to set the resistance level consistently (16 levels)
  • Heart-Rate Monitoring: Contact heart-rate sensors and 4 heart-rate controlled workout programs

Cons:

  • Basic Console: No mp3 input, built-in speakers or capability for interactive training
  • Workout Style: Studio/spinning bike is not for everyone
  • Fan: No fan located directly on unit to keep you cool during workouts

Introduction

The Diamondback 510ic has 16 levels of computer controlled magnetic resistance and an anti-flex steel frame designed for durability. Dig into the details of this easy to use bike below.

Workout Programs

The Diamondback 510ic provides 12 workout programs.

Eight of these are preset programs and 4 are heart-rate controlled programs. There’s also the manual and custom user programs to vary your workout.

The 4 heart-rate controlled programs work with the help of the contact heart-rate sensors located on the handles of the Diamondback 510ic.

Diamondback 510ic Features

The Diamondback 510ic is a studio/spinning exercise bike which presents a different ride and feel compared to a recumbent exercise bike. Spinning bikes are considered to be more aggressive, and offer a moderate to difficult resistance for users preferring a more intense workout. They aren’t considered to be as comfortable as recumbent bikes in general.

That said, the Diamondback 510ic has received praise for its sturdy frame and quiet operation from satisfied customers.  The anti-flex steel frame is backed with a limited lifetime warranty (5 years) and should remain durable under months or even years of aggressive use. The bike also features a heavy-duty 32 lb. flywheel which adds to the overall sturdiness of the exercise bike.

The 510ic’s 16 levels of magnetic resistance are enough to challenge a wide variety of users and fitness levels. The resistance is controlled via a computer system and the LCD display provides essential workout data including speed, watts, heart rate, cadence and more.

As for comfort, the 510ic allows for fore and aft seat and handlebar adjustments which means you can set up the bike for your body type and size. Max user weight is 300 lbs., so the bike can accommodate most users.

The Diamondback 510ic is pretty basic. It doesn’t offer many electronic features so you’ll need an external source for playing music or cooling off as the bike does not feature mp3 compatibility or a built-in cooling fan.

Warranty & Guarantee

The Diamondback 510ic home-use warranty includes:

– Frame: Lifetime Limited (5 years)

– Braking: Lifetime Limited (5 years)

– Parts: 3 Years

– Electronics: 3 Years

– Labor: 1 Year

– Wear Items: 90 Days

Diamondback also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on the 510ic bike.

Conclusion

Overall, the Diamondback 510ic is ideal for cost-conscious shoppers who want to start cycling at home, without the addition of the latest and greatest tech. As the 510ic bike doesn’t incorporate a HD display or interactive training, it’s perfect for users who want to ride to their own music, TV shows or read while tracking their exercise progress on a small display.

It’s also suitable for beginners looking to get into indoor exercise on the bike. It’s durable, and provides enough workout variety and challenge levels to keep you motivated.
