Best Fitbit Ionic Accessories: Screen Protectors, Bands, and More
Editor’s Note: On March 3, 2022 the Fitbit Ionic was recalled due to concerns about the battery. A complete review of other Fitbit models is available here.
If you are the owner of a Fitbit Ionic smartwatch, you may be looking for a refund sooner than later. A recently announced recall has been launched as the batteries in these models have been found to overheat. In the meantime, Fitbit remains a great band and there are a number of highly-rated models to consider as alternatives.
That said, the accessories built for the Iconic can mix and match with others, and accessories are always in demand. Some bands aren’t the best during sweaty workouts, and plenty of current owners strongly suggest you add a screen protector to the device. There are also additional options for charging (like stands and docking stations) as well as replacement cords if yours goes missing (or gets chewed on by your pet).
We took a look at some of the best accessories you can buy for the Fitbit and here are our top picks.
Replacement Bands
Whether you want a different look or you need better breathability during your workouts, a replacement band can make a world of difference. Here are a few options.
This is the replacement sport band by Fitbit. That means it’ll be the highest quality and most accurate fit, but it will be more expensive than third-party products. It has the perforated design to ensure better breathability and it’s optimized for water usage as well as for workouts. There are two color options: Black/gray and blue/yellow. It is available in two sizes: Small (5.5-6.7 inches) and large (6.7-8.1 inches).
This band’s regular price is just under $30, but it’s well made and comes in two sizes (unlike many of the third-party bands). If you don’t mind the color and it’s in your budget, this is a great option to upgrade your Ionic. If you’re looking for a lower price or more color availability, you’ll need to look to third-party vendors at this time.
If you’re looking for something to dress up your Ionic a bit, a leather band is a great way to add a completely different look. This band comes from a third-party vendor, but it is significantly less expensive and much better rated than Fitbit’s own leather band (available here for just under $60).
There are also 9 different color options (as opposed to Fitbit’s 2), so you can definitely find one that matches your style – this band is ultra-affordable so you can even pick up more than one if you like to change up your style. The main drawback to this band is that it only comes in one size. This makes it a bit chunky for smaller wrists.
Bayite Soft Silcone Sport Band
Like the Bayite leather band, this one is an alternative to the Fitbit branded sport band. It’s much less expensive and it comes in a wide variety of colors (11, to be exact). Like the other bands, this lets your skin breathe better during workouts, and the silicone construction makes it durable and easy to clean.
The issue with this particular band is that it only comes in one size (6.1”-7.9”), so it will not work well for you if you have a smaller wrist. However, if it will fit your wrist, this might be a great replacement band for you, particularly if you’re interested in different color options.
Screen Protectors
Pleson 6-Pack Wet Application Screen Protector
This six pack of screen protectors has primarily good reviews and is priced well. A bit of precision and patience is required to apply the protector, but once you get it on it does a great job of both protecting the watch face and looking natural. The main criticism of this product is that some of the protectors are difficult to get off the sticker it comes on.
Ace Armor 6-Pack Shield Protector
See Best Price
Another six pack of protectors, the Ace Armor brand is mostly well reviewed and also highly affordable. Like most of the protectors out there, it can be tricky to apply properly, and sometimes it’s hard to get the bubbles out. Some users report that the protector falls off easily, but the mostly positive reviews indicate that this is a rare issues.
Cases

If you’re looking for something that gives your Ionic a bit of extra protection, a protective case might be your best bet. The OenFoto case is shockproof, shatter-resistant, and dustproof, and it’s flexible. Though it encases the face, you can still easily access the side buttons and interface is unrestricted. There are even a few different color options if you want to add just a splash of color to your Ionic.
Charging Stands & Stations
Vodke Fitbit Ionic Charging Stand
See Best Price
If you’d rather charge your Ionic on a stand and avoid dealing with the magnetic charging port, a stand is a great option. This one by Vodke is made of lightweight silicone and is very inexpensive. To use it, you simply have to place your watch on the stand and it will charge.
Aresh Ionic Charger and USB Charging Station
This stand also includes a slot for your smartphone so you can keep it all in one place. To charge the Ionic, simply set it correctly on the stand for fast and easy charging. It will not charge your phone, but it will hold your phone while it’s plugged in and can act as a stand to watch videos on your phone.
Charging Cords
Need to replace the charging cord or have a second one on hand? You can buy one from Fitbit for $20, or you can grab one of these third-party chargers:
Headphones
Fitbit Flyer Wireless Headphones
Fitbit’s other big product launch this year was their wireless headphones optimized for the Ionic. The Flyer has great sound quality, a 6-hour battery life, and multi-device connectivity. Some of the critical reviews say that they do not fit well in some ears. However, that’s an issue we’ve seen across the board with wireless headphones – there doesn’t seem to be a single pair that is universal, no matter how many extra wings and inserts they come with. For the price, these compete with high-end wireless headphones, so if they are in budget, these are a great addition to your Fitbit Ionic.
