Yowza Fitness Osprey Review

This product has been discontinued

Quick Summary

Consumer Warning: It appears that Yowza Fitness may no longer be in business. After repeated attempts to get ahold of them as well as reported customer issues, we can no longer recommend their products.

The Yowza Fitness Osprey is what the manufacture likes to refer to as a “transformer treadmill”.

The goal is to create a space-saving, folding treadmill that doesn’t feel and ride like your traditional compact trainer.

Instead, the Yowza Osprey is designed to be not only compact but sturdy, more like the commercial-grade options common with the non-folding models.

Introduction

Yowza Fitness has always been at the forefront of fitness equipment design and their latest release of treadmills reflects that tradition.

The Yowza Fitness Osprey may not be as highly touted as other new releases like the Sebring and Daytona; however the Osprey is an intriguing piece of exercise equipment superior to other entry-level treadmills by other manufactures.

The treadmill is a top buy for consumers tight on space looking to find a trainer that still supports most body types and does not shake during use.

Workout Programs

The Yowza Fitness Osprey offers 16 pre-defined workout selections.

The workout programs include: Target Programs, Speed Interval, Preset Programs, Weight Loss, 5K Running/Walking, Fitness Test and Heart Rate.

Built-in pulse grips work with the heart rate program to achieve optimal performance.

Exercise data is easy to read on the LED display featuring nine individual user memory slots can record user’s age, weight and fitness level.

Treadmill Features

The Yowza Fitness Osprey is what the manufacture describes as a “transformer treadmill”. The goal is to create a treadmill that is compact and space-saving, but does not rock and shake like a lot of smaller, folding treadmills are renown for doing.

While true, the Yowza Osprey is a step up from “hinged” folding treadmills, the Osprey is still not adequate for all body types with a slightly smaller than average running surface (20″ x 52″) and motor (2.75 CHP). It is, however, a very good buy for smaller users with primary walking or moderate jogging habits.

The Yowza Fitness Osprey folds and with a footprint of 69″ x 33″ x 55″ it does not take up a lot of space even while in use. Transport wheels allow you to move the trainer from room to room, and the 154 lbs. weight is not too heavy.

One touch speed and incline controls allow you to shift through speed (o.5 to 11 mph) and incline (0 to 12 percent) with minimal effort.

The patented progressive shock absorption deck of Yowza Fitness is also seen on the Yowza Osprey.

Scratch-resistant powder-coated steel frame keeps the model looking new even after months of use and requires rather low maintenance.

The entry-level Yowza Osprey features little else in terms of extras, including no mp3 compatibility or built-in cooling fan.

Warranty & Guarantee

The Yowza Fitness Osprey treadmill warranty and guarantee includes:

– Frame: Lifetime
– Motor: Lifetime
– Parts: 5 Years
– Electronics: 5 Years
– Labor: 2 Years (In-Home)

Conclusion

The Yowza Fitness Osprey is in the entry-level treadmill category in the under $1,000 price range. It saves space while also featuring a rather strong performance for price paid.
