Our Rating

Rating: 86.8/100. The Life Fitness T3 is entry level in its series, but it’s comparable to top treadmills from other brands. For many shoppers it’s more than enough treadmill! The T3 is strong whether you consider its horsepower, track size, workout programming or attention to extras. Key specs are its 3.0 HP motor (6.0 HP peak), FlexDeck cushioning system, power incline up to 15%, wireless heart rate monitoring and choice of two consoles. The consoles are named “Go” and “Track+.” Each is preloaded with at least a dozen training programs. The Track+ console lets you download new workout programs using a Life Fitness mobile app, plus it’s compatible with third party workout apps and iPod.

Will it fit your workout space? The T3 Treadmill has a 79.5″ x 34.5″ footprint. Here are other factors to consider, divided into lists of pros and cons.
Pros:

  • Long track for sprinting (Track is 60″ x 20″)
  • Top speed 12 mph
  • Automated incline (Maximum 15%)
  • FlexDeck cushioning
  • Smart motor (Avoids energy waste by adjusting to user weight)
  • Choice of two consoles with preset workouts
  • iPod compatible (Track+ console only)
  • Third party app integration (Track+ console only)
  • Two or four user profiles (Depends on console)
  • Quick start mode uses your preferred incline and speed
  • Wireless heart rate receiver
  • Contact heart rate receiver
  • Reading rack/Tablet holder
  • Cup holders

Cons:

  • Assembly is time-intensive (Can pay for setup)
  • Treadmill has a large footprint

If your workout space is limited, then you might prefer the Life Fitness F3. It is similar to the T3 but can be folded.

Introduction

The T3 treadmill is a top seller from Life Fitness. While it’s the lowest priced treadmill in its series, it’s not much different from the pricier T5. (The T5 has greater weight capacity and a wider track.) Customers get ample motor power, comfortable cushioning to protects joints, and helpful workout programming. Unlike most home treadmills, the Life Fitness T3 gives owners a choice of consoles too. The “Go” console is the simpler of the two but provides good workout variety and feedback. The “Track+” console has a similar workout menu, plus it can download new workouts, use mobile fitness apps, track your long-term progress and play your MP3s.

Workout Programs

Customers choose between two Life Fitness consoles: Go and Track+. Basically the Go console is a traditional treadmill console with preset workouts and data feedback. The Track+ has a wireless connection and iPod compatibility.

The Go console has 12 training programs that support different ability levels and fitness goals. It supports two user profiles, and each user can save two customized programs. A “quick start” feature lets each user quickly begin a workout without setting their preferences; the T3 recalls favorite settings for speed and incline.

The Track+ console has 14 diverse built-in training programs. It supports four user profiles and each user can save two customized programs. Just like the Go console, it has Quick Start mode too. What really sets the Track+ console apart is its connectivity. Connect your iPod for music motivation! You can also expand your workout menu by using wireless apps. A Life Fitness app (LFConnect) lets you download new workouts, and the Track+ also works with your smartphone or tablet to run fitness apps from third parties.

Life Fitness T3 Features

Avoid joint pain and boost your endurance! FlexDeck cushioning makes running on the T3 about 30% gentler on your body compared with running on pavement.

To support extra-fast calorie burn and targeted muscle toning, this treadmill has a power incline. Choose from settings in 0.5 degree increments from 0 to 15%.

Heart rate monitoring options include using touch sensors or a wireless chest strap. The chest strap is sold separately.

This treadmill has a 3.0 HP motor and peak performance of 6.0 HP. Sometimes though, 3.0 HP is more than you need. To avoid needless energy costs, the motor adjusts its output depending on your weight.

The T3 has a reading rack. The ledge is wide enough to hold a tablet computer or magazine. It also has two cup holders to make hydration convenient.

Warranty & Guarantee

The Life Fitness T3 Treadmill warranty includes:

– Frame: Lifetime

– Deck: Lifetime

– Motor: 10 years

– Parts: 5 Years

– Labor: 1 year

Conclusion

The T3 Treadmill is a top Life Fitness option for virtually any trainee. It has the size and power to support walking, jogging and running. With a choice of consoles, it can be tailored to different preferences too. This treadmill is very similar to the more expensive T5, which we only recommend as an alternative if you weigh more than 300 pounds or would like extra workout room.
