Introduction

The Precor EFX 5.23 is designed to deliver a complete body workout with moving handlebars and reversible pedals.

The elliptical also features CrossRamp workout technology and low-impact EFX motion, both of which are trademarks of Precor trainers.

Workout Programs

The Precor EFX 5.23 features eight workout programs.

The selection is adequate though far from overly impressive.

Workout programs include: Fat Burner, Gluteals, Hill Climb. Interval and Weight Loss.

Heart rate monitoring is available via built-in pulse grips and is compatible with telemetry monitors. One heart rate program is offered on the Precor EFX 5.23.

The LCD display readouts of calories, distance, program profile, strides per minute and time.

Elliptical Features

The Precor EFX 5.23 is highlighted by its patented CrossRamp technology.

Alter the height of the elliptical path your foot travels with CrossRamp. Also known as variable stride geometry, CrossRamp allows you to focus on a specific muscle group or all major lower-body muscle groups for more control of the workout experience.

Incline is available at three different angles: 15, 20, and 25 degrees. Incline is manually adjusted and works nicely with CrossRamp.

The ramp is produced with welded steel, covered with a black powder coat finish which helps ensure the longevity of the trainer.

The Precor EFX 5.23 also features moving handlebars for greater workout variety. Reversible pedals are a nice addition to the elliptical.

The biomechanics of the Precor EFX 5.23 are top notch. Patented, low-impact EFX motion is — according to Precor — smooth and natural, providing the lowest rate of perceived exertion of any cardio exercise system to make your workouts more comfortable, even though you are working out strenuously.

Consequently, the patented motion allows your heels to remain in contact with foot pedals, reducing muscle and tendon stress.
