Introduction
The Cybex 770A Arc Trainer is a high quality alternative to commercial elliptical machines. It supports very efficient lower body exercise with smooth arc-shaped motion. Its maximum stride of 24 inches naturally shortens as the incline increases, letting the trainee move from gliding to striding to climbing. Key benefits are rapid calorie burn and muscle sculpting along with cardiovascular exercise. This top-of-the-line model pairs excellent low-impact ergonomics with appealing electronics including iPod/iPhone compatibility, a touch screen and an optional widescreen display.
Workout Programs
The 770A Arc Trainer has 13 built-in training programs to support diverse workout goals: Quick Start, Weight Loss (3), Cardio (2), Shaping (2), Strength (3), Adaptive Power, Constant Power and Heart Rate Control. Each program controls the machine’s resistance and incline and has 10 challenge levels.
Additional workout programs — including some in virtual reality video format — are available via Cybex GO on an optional 15.6″ monitor.
The session data shown are time elapsed, distance, calories, calories per hour, Watts, METs, strides per minute, heart rate and heart rate zone. Heart rate zone is indicated with a multicolored light system.
Cybex 770A Arc Trainer Features
The Cybex 770A has a multilingual 4.3″ touch screen for setting up workouts and controlling an iPod or iPhone. The Arc Trainer can also sync with a mobile app for tracking exercise data. Its iPod/iPhone port can charge an attached device.
Sold separately from the 770A is a compatible 15.6″ HD monitor. It can be used in three modes called Exercise, Entertainment and Escape. This monitor is compatible with the Cybex GO subscription service for top-notch workout programming, on-demand TV programming, web browsing and more. An audio receiver can be added for digital radio too.
The Cybex Arc Trainer console has two workout fans to help trainees keep comfortable. The console also has a magazine rack, two accessory trays and a bottle holder.
For branding purposes Cybex trainers are available in virtually any frame color. Additionally the optional HD monitor can be programmed to show a facility’s logo and custom media for club members.
Warranty & Guarantee
The Cybex 770A Arc Trainer is sold with residential, light commercial and commercial warranty packages. All include 10 years of coverage for the frame. The buyer protections are as follows:
– Residential: 5 years parts, 3 years labor
– Light Commercial: 3 years parts, 3 years labor
– Full Commercial: 3 years parts, 1 year labor
Conclusion
The Cybex 770A is an appealing alternative to elliptical machines. Using an arc shape instead of an elliptical shape, it delivers superior muscle toning and calorie burn while being lower impact than ellipticals too. Beyond the great biomechanics it engages trainees with its iPod/iPhone integration, mobile app syncing, touchscreen, and (optional) Cybex GO platform. We’re a bit partial to the 770AT with moving arm bars, but if you only seek lower body training and the 770A fits your budget, it’s an easy choice.
