Arc Trainers beat ellipticals at their own game, supporting even lower impact motion and about 16% faster calorie burn. The 525AT’s defining feature is a crescent-shaped (rather than ellipse-shaped) footpath that adjusts in length with 21 levels of incline. Trainees can glide with an up to 24″ arc, take regular walking strides or simulate stair climbing… so in a sense the Arc Trainer is a three-in-one fitness machine. Its moving arm bars have substantial resistance too; they’re nearly twice as effective as the moving arm bars on most elliptical cross trainers.

Eight workout programs are included to guide workout time, plus the Arc Trainer has Quick Start mode. Programming is shown on a basic LED. An upgrade available at checkout is a 15.6″ high definition screen for extra workout programming, Internet and TV.

The Cybex 525AT is a great match for most gym members seeking vigorous yet low impact workouts. The most elite athletes might prefer a higher Cybex Arc Trainer to get more resistance (900 Watts max versus 600 Watts max) and heart rate control.

Introduction

The Cybex 525AT Arc Trainer is a compact commercial fitness machine for body sculpting, strength training and cardio health. While it looks similar to elliptical trainers, the 525AT uses an arc-shaped footpath instead of an ellipse. It delivers even faster calorie burn than elliptical trainers can, plus the Arc Trainer is even gentler on joints. Workout Programs

This Arc Trainer can be used in manual mode (Quick Start) and with eight preset workout programs: three for weight loss, three for cardio and two for strength. These programs control the machine’s incline and resistance. Each workout can be used at 10 levels.

Data shown are time, calories burned, calories per hour, strides per minute and heart rate. Additionally a multicolor indicator shows the heart rate zone.

The display is multilingual. The options are English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Danish and Dutch.
